Senior Accountant

Large diversified conglomerate seeks a Senior Accountant to take responsibility over the Corporate entity that consolidates 16 affiliated and wholly-owned subsidiaries, in addition to accounting for 6 other non-consolidated affiliated companies.

This position is responsible for the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for the month-end close, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.

Other Responsibilities include:

• Complete the monthly accounting process to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of the financial statements and analysis on a monthly and year-end basis.
• Prepare the monthly financial reporting and analysis reports, including variance and trend analysis.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Monitor and reconcile the Master corporate bank account which includes transactions from multiple entities.
• Review supplier invoices and customer billings to ensure accuracy.
• Manage and account for leases in accordance with US GAAP.
• Assist with analyzing the environmental exposure related to various entities
• Record and monitor capital projects.
• Reconcile fixed assets and coordinate with IT and Operations to validate the existence of the assets.
• Provide accurate financial information to support Operations with their regulatory reporting requirements.
• Work closely with other accountants to ensure intercompany transactions are reconciled and reported accurately.
• Manage the accounting and reporting for multiple affiliated Limited Liability Companies.
• Liaise directly with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit and Collections departments.
• Coordinate and interface with external auditors providing them with documentation to support the audit.
• Perform additional duties and assist with projects as assigned.
• Actively support the Company’s commitment to quality and all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.

Requirements include:

• 5+ years’ experience in an accounting position.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant preferred.
• Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning system, NetSuite experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Office products.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including vlook-ups, pivot tables.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly meticulous, well organized and attention to detail.
