Revenue Recognition Manager

Growing, world-wide technology storage provider has a need for a highly-technical Revenue Recognition Manager. This newly-created position focuses heavily on revenue recognition in the manufactured hardware / software industry.

Other Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with other departments to insure that all revenue transactions are booked in accordance with the Company’s revenue recognition policy.
• Participate in discussions, review draft contracts, and provide recommendations for recognition in accordance with relevant accounting literature.
• Document revenue contracts and related revenue accounting treatment under current revenue recognition rules.
• Evaluate revenue recognition treatment by preparing a revenue recognition checklist for each contract or amendment.
• Publish accounting memo as necessary to document the Company’s accounting positions. Work actively with external auditors to ensure that revenue recognition interpretations are consistent and compliant with GAAP.
• Responsible for the monthly close on revenue accounting to ensure proper accrual or deferral of revenue as appropriate.
• Work with the Company’s international entities team to ensure proper recognition of the Company’s revenue and cost and timely reporting.
• Maintain and update internal Sarbanes-Oxley documentation for revenue recognition and support internal audits of related controls.
• Processes and automation of the implementation of Oracle and Essbase analysis as applicable.
• Support all revenue recognition disclosures in all financial reporting requirements.
• Create detailed revenue reporting as needed for management purposes as well as other process and control improvement as required.
• Implement new revenue recognition guidance including establishing processes, policies and procedures to be in compliance with new guidance.
• Provide revenue recognition guidance & training to various teams at the international and domestic locations during the year.

Requirements include:

• 7 – 10 years progressive experience plus relevant managerial roles.
• Big 4 Accounting background required.
• Strong technical Revenue Recognition experience is a must.
• Significant knowledge of SOP 97-2, SAB 104, and all related guidance regarding revenue recognition in a publicly traded, high-tech company.

A CPA license is required for this role.
