Senior Accountant

One of the premier investment firms in Los Angeles, focused on equity and fixed income strategy, is seeking a Senior Accountant to be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information and to assist with maintaining quality control over financial transactions, payroll, and financial reporting.

Other Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for full‐cycle accounts receivable process.
• Oversee responses to billing and A/R inquiries.
• Process client invoices on a timely and accurate basis.
• Reconcile, research, and resolve billing variances as they arise either internally or externally.
• Monitor collections and A/R aging to ensure timely receipt of payments.
• Review new client contracts for fee and billing matters.
• Assist with the month‐end and year‐end closing process, including preparation of financial statement, support schedules, journal entries, management reports, audit schedules, and reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries based on review of supporting documents, reconciliations, and/or schedules.
• Actively participate in year‐end audits, tax preparation and quarterly reviews, including preparation of support schedules and related requests.
• Maintain adequate internal controls within the accounting processes to ensure well documented, accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Implement and document procedures necessary to maintain and improve internal controls.
• Train and mentor staff accountants.
• Manage time effectively, multi‐task, and work under tight deadlines.

Requirements include:

• 3 to 5 years of progressive general accounting and / or corporate finance experience.
• Highly detail‐oriented, organized, thorough and accurate.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and application of accounting principles.
• Ability to grasp company financial policies and protocols.
• Superior analytical and strong problem‐solving skills with a solution‐oriented mind‐set.
• Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment.
• Relevant system and computer skills required, including proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Advent Revenue Center and Financial Services industry is a plus.

CPA or CPA Candidate is preferred for this role.
