Tax Manager

Industrial conglomerate, providing engineered industrial products for critical applications in a wide range of industries, has an immediate need for an experienced Tax Manager.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee the international tax compliance and income tax provision process, providing assistance and guidance to foreign teams as needed.
• Monitor and evaluate implications of tax legislation, ensuring compliance with foreign countries and worldwide tax reporting initiatives from the OECD, foreign governments and other regulatory agencies.
• Manage federal and state income/franchise tax audits and assist foreign teams with local audits.
• Work proactively to resolve tax issues, minimize tax risk, and maintain rapport with taxing authorities.
• Play a key role in strategic tax planning, initiating and implementing high-value strategies to minimize tax liability and exposure, enhance tax-efficient cash flows, reduce our effective tax rate, and streamline our organizational structure.
• Assist business partners by analyzing tax implications of contemplated transactions, business initiatives and proposals.
• Support the company’s acquisitions, due diligence, structuring/planning, and post-acquisition integration tax matters.
• Identify process and efficiency improvement opportunities including the use of technology for data collection and analysis to facilitate our tax compliance process.
• Develop, coach and mentor direct reports and other members of the tax team.

Requirements include:

• 8+ years of tax experience addressing complex domestic and international issues of large, multi-national corporations.
• Extensive hands-on experience in the areas of accounting for income taxes, tax compliance with corporate consolidations, tax research, and strategic planning – blend of public accounting and private industry experience is preferred.
• Extensive experience with the implementation of the international provisions of U.S. tax reform – Transition Tax, GILTI, FDII and BEAT.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Able to understand and evaluate complex facts, identify issues, quickly discern tax implications, and provide timely, actionable advice.
• Able to perform well under pressure in a dynamic, fast paced environment with competing priorities and deliver exceptional results.
• Proactive, open-minded and intellectually agile with a willingness to accept/drive change, innovation and process improvement.
• Drives engagement. Works well in a collaborative, team environment and across cultures.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Proficiency in Corptax and Microsoft Office, especially Excel is required.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, Oracle (HFM) and Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.

A CPA or international equivalent is required for this role.
