Full-service environmental contractor, providing emergency services and alternative solution, is seeking a detail-oriented, organized person who can be a partner to operations and is comfortable overseeing the administrative and accounting functions for multiple facilities and becoming the “expert” in bridging the gap between operations and finance. This new position will be highly visible and have traditional corporate duties along with a real focus on our California and Nevada operations

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the monthly close process, preparation of financial statements, and maintaining the integrity of our trial balance and associated schedules
• Manage all aspects of accounting including general ledger, collections, fixed assets, customer billing, daily deposit posting, payables, payroll, and job cost accounting
• Responsible for coordinating and managing routine bank, CPA, and benefits audits
• Responsible for providing banking and treasury support
• Responsible for fleet management, measuring and reporting utilization, maintaining DMV registrations and reporting heavy vehicle use taxes
• Supervise a staff of approximately 5 including both exempt and non-exempt individuals managing performance development, cross training and recruitment
• Responsible for preparing annual budgets
• Responsible for generating and analyzing key business metrics for senior management and providing dashboard support
• Work with senior management to analyze business unit performance, providing insight and support for decision making
• Hold P&L meetings with senior management
• Implement and document procedures necessary to maintain and improve internal controls

Requirements include:

• 10 years of experience in general accounting including at least 5 years of supervisory experience
• Advanced certification either CPA or MBA
• Experience in related industries including oil and gas, construction, emergency response, solid waste management or transportation is required
• Relevant system and computer skills required, including proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications, ADP payroll. ERP software experience including Acumatica is highly desired
• Experience with system implementations for example either Avid or Concur accounts payable systems
• Experience with construction contracts, Master Service Agreements and Certified Payroll
• Experience with IT related implementations both database, dashboard and related ERP interfaces
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment
• Ability to travel on occasion to visit company office

Experience with preparing private equity investor reports is highly desired for this role.
