Publicly-traded global, independent studio, focused on development, acquisition, production, financing, distribution and sales of entertainment content across film, television and music production and sales, is in immediate need of a Controller.

The primary responsibility for this role will be the creation of financial reporting and other key financial deliverables for the film production business. Primary tasks include managing monthly financial close and reporting, periodic forecasting and budgeting, and working with key operational decision makers and senior finance executives to properly reflect business activities in all financial deliverables

Other Responsibilities include:

• Create all aspects of monthly accounting and financial reporting and manage the month-end close process and preparing monthly reporting package.
• Collect and compile financial data required for financial planning, budgeting and analysis functions including formal quarterly reforecasts and annual three-year plan.
• Maintain integrity and clarity between financial reporting and operational obligations to support corporate management and business decision making.
• Make recommendations to encourage the continuous improvement of accounting procedures and financial reporting process.
• Oversee cash forecasting and treasury function through the corporate funding process.
• Act as the division’s primary contact with external advisors including the Company’s auditors.
• Manage preparation of local territory reporting requirements including tax returns and regulatory accounts filings.
• Ensure financial controls are implemented and maintained in conformity with good practice and the corporate standards.
• Special projects as assigned by department manager.

Requirements include:

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with Film Ultimates is required.
• Experience in accounting for film production at a studio and/or independent production company.
• Experienced with multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations.
• UK statutory filing experience a plus.
• Self-motivated and highly organized with strong project management skills and drive to meet organizational and departmental objectives.
• Excellent Excel and modeling skills.
• Financial systems implementation experience preferred.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with multiple deliverables and tight deadlines.
• Strong presentational and verbal communication skills with collaborative style.
• Attention to detail in all areas of work.

A CPA license is required for this role.
