Corporate Controller

Full-service environmental contractor, providing emergency services and alternative solutions, is in need of a hands-on, operations-driven Corporate Controller.

This role will have responsibility for supervising a staff of 10.

Responsible for the month-end close process, including the preparation of the monthly financial package, P&L support schedules, preparing journal entries and management reports, experience with preparing private equity investor reports is highly desired.

Other Responsibilities include:

• Manage all aspects of accounting including, general ledger, collections, payables, payroll, fixed assets, licenses and permits, property taxes, and job cost accounting.
• Responsible for the maintaining the integrity of the company’s chart of accounts.
• Supervise a staff of approximately 10 including both exempt and non-exempt individuals managing performance development, cross training and recruitment.
• Responsible for preparing annual budgets and conducting bank audits, 5500 audits and annual CPA audits.
• Work with senior management to analyze business unit performance, providing insight and support for decision making; lead monthly P&L meetings with senior management.
• Implement and document procedures necessary to maintain and improve internal controls.

Requirements include:

• 10+ years of experience in general accounting with 5 years of supervisory experience and advanced certification either CPA or MBA.
• Experience in related industries including oil and gas, construction, emergency response, solid waste management or transportation.
• Relevant system and computer skills required, including proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications, ADP payroll. ERP software experience is highly desired.
• Experience with system implementations, for example: accounts payable systems.
• Experience with construction contracts, Master Service Agreements and Certified Payroll.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, while effectively meeting tight deadlines.
• Efficient organizational, analytical, problem solving skills.
• Must be comfortable working independently as well as supporting and participating a team environment.
• Ability to travel on occasion to visit company offices.
