Director of Financial Reporting

Well-established, publicly-traded advertising technology firm, focused on online media, has an immediate need for a Director of Financial Reporting. This hands-on position will have responsibility to drive the company’s SEC reporting processes to ensure that applicable 10-Q, 10-K and other filings are issued timely and accurately. The role will be responsible for managing all equity administration and accounting, and will support the CFO and investor relations, including messaging, data gathering, and financial analytical support. In addition, the role will be responsible for purchase accounting, pro forma preparation, and related disclosure resulting from acquisitions made by the company. This is a BIG job.

Other Responsibilities include:

• Prepare public company filings and work closely with management and legal to ensure compliance and timely filing
• Function as an important resource for technical accounting – including staying current on and assessing the implications of new guidance
• Liaise closely with external auditors as primary day-to-day contact and help manage audit completion
• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure strong communication and coordination, as well as to review complex accounting matters to ensure appropriate resolution and disclosure
• Coordinate with business leaders and departments to obtain necessary information to support filings
• Ensure accurate XBRL tagging
• Review and tie-out financial data in press releases and other public communications
• Prepare and coordinate the quarterly financial reporting calendar and timelines
• Work with internal audit to ensure appropriate design of ICFR, including obtaining periodic internal certifications
• Orchestrate Disclosure Committee activities
• Manage financial reporting group
• Responsible for all equity administration and accounting, including close coordination with legal and HR
• Drive change to ensure scaling of operation, increases in efficiency and increases in quality through automation, work assessment and process improvement

Requirements include:

• 8+ years relevant accounting experience
• Prior role with primary responsibility for SEC filings in a public company
• Excellent proficiency in technical accounting, SEC requirements, and US GAAP, including purchase accounting, equity accounting, and revenue recognition
• Experience with Oracle a plus
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Ability and commitment to meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and language skills, particularly writing skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Excellent work ethic and highest level of integrity
• Team-oriented work style
• Flexible on industry, but the preference is for internet/media/technology experience

A CPA is required for this role.
