VP of Accounting

Dramatically growing residential finance company has created a new VP of Accounting position. S/he will be the lead role for the Accounting and Finance team.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate resolutions of complex operational accounting issues including multi-entity structure, intercompany transactions
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting process
• Ensure all reporting deadlines are met
• Review reports, summary memos and footnotes to ensures the production of complete and accurate financial reports
• Oversee production and review of quarterly reporting to lenders and security holders and quarterly Board reporting package
• Devise and produce internal reports useful to the accounting department and senior management
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls over accounting transactions and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance and timely remediation of deficiencies in internal controls
• Develop and monitor KPI’s monthly
• Oversee year-end audits including preparation of the financials
• Stay abreast of changes in both statutory accounting and GAAP
• Review and document technical research and recommend conclusions
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Maintain knowledge of all relevant legislative and regulatory mandates and ensure compliance
• Review legal agreements including securitization, credit facilities, equity raise, and all types of commercial agreements
• Serve as trusted advisor to the CFO on all accounting and reporting matters

Requirements include:

• 10+ years’ of progressive Accounting experience including 8+ years’ of management -related experience
• Ability to think strategically, craft a vision and develop robust action plans
• Ability to manage processes, analyze information, develop standards and implement performance management programs
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, flexibility to work effectively in a demanding and fast paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to identify root causes of business and/or workflow problems and craft/execute innovative solutions
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• ERP/ Financial systems knowledge required (Oracle experience preferred)
• Excellent organizational skills
• In-depth knowledge and application of U.S. GAAP issues
• Consumer financing, financial services or related industry background / experience required

A CPA is required for this role. An MBA is preferred.
