Supervisor of FP&A

Privately-held, medium-sized manufacturer / distributor looking for a Supervisor for Financial Planning & Analysis, reporting directly to the CFO.

This position will be responsible for financial analysis and support of the pricing process to ensure strategic alignment and accuracy within all business system. The Supervisor will also assist the national and regional sales teams to deliver profitable growth and provides accurate, insightful financial modeling for the Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations teams.

Other Responsibilities Include:

• Analyze customer, product line, division and SKU profitability.
• Calculate and analyze monthly and quarterly sales commissions and bonuses.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
• Analyze key financial data in comparison to historical, competitive and budgeted figures.
• Assist in ERP and other system upgrades and implementations.
• Assist in standardizing and documenting processes company wide.
• Suggest and implement finance related process improvements.
• Serve as the Finance expert of Salesforce.com and Wave Analytics.
• Assist in the creation and maintain of documentation on processes, procedures and policies.
• Develop a clear understanding of our underlying key business and operational drivers.
• Perform trend analysis, modeling and what-if scenario analysis to help support ongoing operations.
• Prepare and provide financial data/metrics, as requested, in order to increase visibility and cost control.
• Provide other financial analysis, as needed.
• Consult with the products and sales/operations teams to ensure pricing levels, practices and tools are consistent with business and competitive needs.
• Develop and improve analytical tools to support pricing optimization.
• Proactively identify opportunities to increase gross margin dollars through both higher sales volume and higher profit margin rates.
• Design and implement regular pricing adjustments to retain the company’s competitive advantage and pricing leadership in the market.
• Maintain special contracted pricing, manage pricing module offerings and associated data.
• Maintain the Base Pricing Modules and data so that pricing data can be extracted for reports, queries or special orders.
• Assist in the development of standard contract rebating processes.
• Perform monthly master data verifications and annual review of master data in preparation for new standard creation or based on ad hoc requests.
• Support the pricing process through the product and sales life cycle.
• Assist in ensuring that pricing data is visible and accessible to select internal staff and external customers.
• ERP process ownership and documentation of all agreements, price lists, modifiers, qualifiers, “Rebate-Groups,” Contracts and query sets.
• Provide recommendations for continuous process improvements; train new and existing users on how to use salesforce.com related applications.

Requirements include:

• Knowledge of product groups, product families, product codes, sales regions, sets of books, customer classes, customers, sales channels, discounting policies, agreements/contracts, custom terms and price lists.
• Knowledge of budget and forecast techniques and best practices along with financial analysis techniques including the ability to develop financial models.
• Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems, data structures, data modeling, & DB schema.
• Understanding of technologies that work with and within ERP systems.
• Inventory monitoring and analysis experience.
• Creative and analytical thinker with strong communication skills, creative energy, and a positive attitude.
• Experience leading continuous process improvement projects. Six sigma certification a plus.
• Must be self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is essential.
